Hey thar
I've had that annoying issue of the SD card unmounting randomly, and I have tried to fix the issue by reformatting, etc etc, and have given up
My problem now is the update that has been released, it is impossible to download because of the SD card unmounting. Is there a way I can get around this?

That sounds more like a contact problem. Have you tried a different SD card?

ok, sounds more like a problem in your phone then.
It would have to be less than 12 months old, so still under warranty. Where did you buy it?

I even got the same problem after updating to 2.3.5 a week ago.....Restarted my phone many times with fast boot off.....it was okay for two days again got the same problem....then did a backup of everything, formated my sd card.....and factory reset my phone with sd in and checking ERASE SD CARD option, now its solved......better try this way.....
